Smile Asking a quick favour from 3rd Gen Owners

Hi All 3rd Gen owners,

I got a 2nd Gen Yaris and the front seats are so uncomfortable im thinking of selling after 3 weeks ownership. Could someone with a third get do me a huge favour please and measure the mounting bolts of their front seats?

Centre to centre of the bolts from left to right front pair and rear pair, and a close as you can from front to back (this is way too hard to get exact unless seats are out).

I've found some evidence on here that they MAY fit, and i found a set at a wreckers. If they don't fit and the wrecker pull them out for me, he won't refund me so i'll be out $250.

Thanks for any help

Does the rear seat rails look similar to this?? Or does it bolt to to side or something strange? Could someone please post a pic of the rear of the seat rails so i could compare to the second gen?

Since the metal stamping for the 3rd gen underbody didn't change, the seat mounting would have stayed the same. Jason@sportscar put a set of Gen3 seats up for sale e while ago which were purchased by a Gen2 owner.

Hi All,

This works, it doesn't line up 100%, but about 99%. You have to put all the bolts in loosely before tightening up, or the last bolt wont line up. This wasnt the case with my stock seats.

The only mod you have to do is remove one locator pin that not inline with the hole as shown in the pic, and either swap the plugs to the belt buckles, or just reuse the buckles from your old seats like i did.

Now, do you find the 3rd generation seats more comfortable?

I find them a lot more comfortable. I was nearly ready to sell my 2009 yaris after owning it for a month. I got the new seats out of a 2015 5dr.

The issue i had with my original seats was i felt like i sat too high, even when i lowered the seat as much as possible and it felt like it had too much lumbar support and arched my lower back too much.

New seats defiantly feel lower, i can visibly adjust the to be lower than the passenger seat. They look like they have less arch in them compared to my stock seats, and feel that way.

I completely concur. Had both a 2nd and now a 3rd generation Yaris. The seats in my 15 SE are more comfortable than they were in my 13 Avalon Limited. Love the seats in the 15.
