nice day, nice polish
so we had a nice day here in the frozen wasteland we call Ontario :p and i decided to play with polish. i have never polished my car before (always thought polish and wax were the same)
so i went out in search of polish, my car had alot of very bad marks all over it from car washes in the winter (to myself, yarisworld and my car, i promise never to go thru a touch car wash again), when i say it had bad marks, it looked like i drove thru a bush and had the branches srcape along the side of the car. none were deep but it made the entire car look very dull. anyway, i went out in search of a good polish. at the store i asked the salesmen what polish would be too strong for a rookie to use without damaging the paint and could make it worse. he showed me and i grabbed another. when he left i went back and grabbed that one. it was turtle wax rubbing compound(i have always gotten hard shell turtle wax) i must say this is a very good polish, marks i thought would never come out came out without issue, took me about 4 hours to do entire car but she looks like new. on the weekend will put a coat of polish and call it a day. sorry but no pics of before as shitty phone camera couldnt pick up anything on the car. here is are very shiny after photos :)

Did you do it by hand or use a buffer?

did most areas by buffer but problem areas (middle of doors, rear 1/4 pannels and trunk) i did by hand, was worried to over do it with the buffer

random one that was on sale at canadian tire. its a 10" wheel, i wish i had gotten the 8"
it does the job and stops me from putting too much pressure (it doesnt have to torque to spin if i put alot of force on it, maybe if i had a more powerful one i wouldnt have needed to do any of it by hand) how bad can the rubbing compound be for my paint?

as long as you dont put too much on one sitting and letting it dry hard onto the paint. with regular / sensible use - youll have no problems though. cant harm. its not something that needs to be done EVERY wash |
