Synthetic oil MPG boost since change
Just checked MPG on my first tankfull since my first oil change and switch to Amsoil 5W30.
Went from 40.4 to 42.4 MPG hwy. 5% increase. Not too shabby. |

I just ordered a 12 pack of 5W/30 amsoil oil and 3 amsoil oil filters. The oil filter part number is #EaO09.
Thanks to all that turned me on to amsoil. Everything i've read is its the best right now in synthetic oil. |

You just can't go wrong with Synthetic Oil! I can't wait to change over on my first oil change! 5% is pretty remarkable, just by switching oil. I will be using Series 2000 0W-30. Any reason y'all went with 5W-30? Just curious...

The 5w-30 is still an awesome full synthetic but cheaper in price I run the 0w-30 and change the wix filters every 6 months. I get over 40mpg That's with an automatic Manual owners should run Amsoil 75w-90 severe gear oil in the transmissions. Automatic owners should run Amsoil ATF do this and you will see another increase in mileage. With my truck after my complete tune up I went up to about 22 MPG hwy and 18 in town changed the engine oil to Amsoil 0W-30 changed the ATF to Amsoil ATF Changed the rear differential fluid with Amsoil 75W-90 My mileage went up to 27mph hwy. 24 mixed, 22 in town

I too have nothing but respect for Amsoil. My family used it in heavy equipment for years and it performed in a stellar fashion. The procedure was to swap filters, top off and send samples out for analysis. We only changed oil once each year. Unlike cars the intervals where determined by hours ran and not miles. With top notch filters (Amsoil, Wix, Hastings) the average Yari Pilot with an annual 15K useage would only need to change there oil once a year. with a filter swap around 7.5K.

Hypermilers change their oil often because fresh oil always nets better MPG's, regular or synthetic.
