Yaris.. Cruise Control.
Hi all, We are going to be picking up a used 07 Yaris with 33000km's on it. One thing I was wondering and I heard this from another owner was that toyota has no cruise control options for the Yaris's. Is this true? I have a 5 speed manual. I would like cruise control. Any input appreciated. Thanks!

In Canada, the '07 yaris had cruise control listed as an accessory on the Toyota.ca website.

Cruise Control

You can add cruise http://www.mnrelectronics.com/toya20crcoki.html and power locks/windows and keyless entry/alarm to the base model Yaris. The cruise control they are selling is made by the Rostra who does all of the aftermarket cruise for Toyota in US http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/6-29-2006-100769.asp. However, you might have some trouble getting it shipped to some states in the Southeast due to a deal between Rostra and Toyota. The dealer I bought car from would not install the part, but recommended me to a third party radio installation shop who did the cruise install for $129.00 and the alarm for $139.00 Just find a car stereo place that has a good geek and they should be able to do this for you. I have had my Yaris since June turn 10000 miles tomorrow and it's worked fine. |

There was an awesome thread going on the rostra cruise control. People were talking about moving the guts of the Rostra kit elsewhere. When I buy mine, I'm going to mount the controls in the trim next to the A/C controls.
There are even kits out there that are custom shift knobs with the controls built in.

I just installed the Rostra unit in my LB last week. Got it from TRDSparks (cheapest price I could find).
Took my about 2 hours to put in and it works great. |

Did you use those T-splice lock things? The ones that DanQ's DIY said to use?
I'm trying to figure out what exactly they were, gauge, and where to buy.

The rostra came with everything and even a few extras. The T splice things are good and work fine. There is only one splice in the engine compartment on a plug on the transmission and that splice uses a special splice and is weather proofed.
I have to admit there is not too much room to work if you have big paws! |

Not having any options in mine reminds me of the 70's.
So my Yaris will do without. But driving to Columbus i did miss having a cruise control. |

Top Notch!

Looks like every kit is for an Automatic... I need one for a Manual.

Rostra makes a manual tranny kit.

Go to your dealer. Cruise should be about 500 installed, after taxes.

DIY and save a bundle! Not a hard job and TRDsparks seems to have the best prices on it.

Mines a 2008 auto sedan with 13,000 miles and it came with cruise control, keyless entry, power windows and 16 inch alloy wheels. I bought it off of my sister for $10,000 even though its worth about $13,000. I just figured everything in it was standard but looks like it came with more than the average.
