Does this mean that I should fill the petrol immediately or is there a warning sign after? For example: my friends car- Honda Civic lists "fill gas now" after the empty sign.

Once you have the orange/amber fuel indicator lit up (for your Yaris) it means you can probably still drive for a while like i remember it still has about (10-15%) of total capacity for the reserve so probably can go up to 50-60km or more.

The yaris has 42 Liter capacity and reserve of about 4.2-6.3Liters or 4 Liters to be conservative.

If anyone knows the exact figure please correct me.

And to Answer your question, you dont necessarily mean to fuel up immediately once you have the fuel indicator lit up but atleast you are given the warning that you will be empty soon and you still have ample time to look for a fuel station.
