Tow bar for Yaris
My dealer just phoned and my Yaris is in.
However I also ordered a towbar to be fitted. They now tell me that this has not been invented yet. I have seen a few pictures of Echo's/old-style-Yaris with towbars but I don't know if that would work. Has anyone heard anything about fitting a towbar to a new Yaris. (5 door hatch) dekers |

Quote from the Toyota Australia spec. sheet.
Towing capacity - with trailer brakes (kg) 700 - Without trailer brakes (kg) 550 (Note: Towing capacity - Subject to state regulations, towbar design and towing equipment.) All I want it for is to pull a trailer once a year to the rubbish tip, or something like that. I like the option of being able to use a trailer if required. (The jet-ski sounds tempting) As far as ordering something that does not exist, I blame sales people. Before I settled with this dealer I phoned other dealers and at least 2 of them were happy to add a tow bar as an option. Not 1 of the dealers I spoke to mentioned that this was not a real option. Given that the spec. sheet specifically mentions towing capacity I figured that there would be something available. dekers |

I know they exist for the Echo in Canada, I've seen one pulling a small camper (caravan to you Aussies). That might have been a custom job. There is nothing on the current Canadian Accessory Parts Listing, although the "Car Tent" @ $261 (Can.) installed, sounds interesting. You might try going to sales outlets for campers (caravans) or trailers for a quote on a custom hitch.
