Yaris Recall

Stumbled across the article this morning. Not sure if it is just the UK cars or applies to all Yaris.

Most likely not any US cars; only refers to cars made in certain months in 2005 and 2006.

A mention of side airbags and a pic of a LB? Hmm...

If it is true for all Yarii, then mine would be affected by the recall. Made in June '06, turning one next month!

More than likely not you...or me for that matter. I don't believe the US spec liftbacks have side curtain airbags. Just driver and passenger.

Wrong. I have the side curtain airbags. $650 option.

dont worry, you'll get a letter in the mail notifying you if the recall affects you. happened to a 4-runner the family previously had, regarding a steering rod. in the meantime, dont get in a side collision.

I have noticed that on my driver's side "pillar" that the windshield glass is attached to, the plastic cover over the side airbags is popping up a little bit. Mine is a US LB though made in '06.
