Dear Friends,
Toyota is a good car , but the service department or franchisee and people involved sucks and are pathetic.
They are just a rip off , initially got charged with a diagnostic fees of $160 at Newtown Toyota , Western Australia where they could not even diagnose the problem?
After returning and showing them the problem they took my Yaris 2007 make for further check ups and kept it with them for a fortnight, later issuing me another invoice for $320 and giving a report saying they found nothing except that the current battery is showing 306 COLD CRACKING AMPS & the car requires 430 CCA
Is this fair ???

Vitz 2019 little jerk when deacceralating

It is good to see have a forum to this car model.

since I am new to Toyota vitz, i have a question :

My vitz 2019 makes litte jerk when deaccelerating but not every time and also I noticed breaking with deaccelerating it is not happening , furthermore it is not happening when accelerating

Could I know this is general thing in vitz or it is a problem? Thanks

can you observe the movement of RPM when u let go the gas pedal? Is it dip to 800-900rpm then surge to 1100-1200rpm again?

Hi everyone, it's been over 10 years since I registered on this forum and wanted to check in. I've been wanting a Yaris on and off for over the last decade and the bug is hitting me fierce as of late. Just wanted to say hi and start posting a bit here and there on this great forum.

Hi Yaris folks!

New around here, but had my Yaris nearly 6 years now and I love it, best car I've ever had. Not here for any particular reason other than a general desire to become more practical and hoping to soak up some wisdom.

Smile Newb

Hello all! Just bought a 2007 Yaris sedan. I have owned many Toyotas in my life most recently had a 2000 Echo two door sedan. Sold it with 283,000 miles on it, easily the best I ever owned so made sense to get the Yaris this time. Great car but not loving the seats, very awkward anyone know if the post 2012 units will fit and work with the airbag sensors and seat belts ect ? Thanks!

Checking in as requested

I never know what to say on a thread like this. I usually just jump into a topic thread relevant to whatever I am trying to learn at the moment.

Let's see, with me, there are probably five females on here?
(LOL = little old lady)

So many slick looking mods. I will be happy just to keep my Little Blue Car running sweet and looking clean.

Gen 2 / Gen 3 motor swap compatibility

Hi my daughter has a 2007 3dr hatchback with close to 200k the motor finally wore out ! It has the 1.5 w/automatic tranny front wheel drive.
My question is " I have found a 2016 yaris sedan 4dr that is wrecked on front drivers headlight, fender control arm, same motor same tranny are there any known technical difficulties when swapping a gen 3 motor n tranny into a gen 2 chassis ???? From what I can see so far looks pretty basic ! If anyone has done similar please advseme what to lookout for when doing this I.e. .... Harnes changes, different mount location/measurements accessorie location/placments, tranny/motor lineup ? Etc.. This would be very helpful to know and greatly appreciated so I can get this swap done efficiently.
Thanks in advance for any advice y'all might have for this novice mechanic.
P.s. not my first motor/tranny exchange but is my first front wheel drive !!!

What do you mean by the motor finally wore out? 200k is pretty low for a 1nz.

Short answer to your question is no, not the same car. I don't know of anyone that's swapped the mazda engine into the toyota chassis.

The engine is not the same. The 2016 sedan is a rebadged Mazda 2, totally different vehicle. The last true Yaris sedan was 2012.

Hi all, new on here so thought it’d be rude not to introduce myself... :) I live in Ireland and I’ve had my ‘03 Yaris for over two years now, it’s worked more or less faultlessly so far.

Bought it as a run about to do the school run and suchlike, but I’ve come to really like its dependability and the 1-litre VVTi engine is surprisingly nippy I must say. In fact it has really won me over so planning on upgrading to a newer second gen model perhaps next year, a bit dependent on house purchase and such fun stuff.... Ideally I’ll be looking for a model with the 1.33 litre 74kW 1NR-FE engine and six speed manual gearbox, preferably the 3 door model. I think this engine was introduced in Europe in late 2008/early 2009.

Btw, is there an easy way to distinguish visually between the 1NR-FE engine and the two older 1.3 engines?
