Firewall Acess

Real soon am I going to add a cool subwoofer (ala spkrman) and really only hate one part of the job, and that is coming through the firewall. If anyone has a chance to snap a pic of where they came through I would really appreciate it!

Oh, I didn't even notice that! If I pull the dash apart can I see where this bundle enters the cabin?

If you pull the battery can you get a better look at it?

This is a much bigger job then I first thought... Weekend Job!

ECU

I crawled up under the dash this evening and it looks like unbolting the Main Body ECU would bring the wire conduit in to even better prospective. When I pulled the tiny compartment door out at my left knee (seated position) it was a pretty clear shot to the conduit

echo_hrs, what did you remove?

There is a rubber grommet just above the ECU mounted on the fire wall. It's super easy to get to from the inside and outside.

Which ECU? Snap a pic from the exterior when you get a chance.

i just ran my power wire through the grommet where the heater hoses run inside the car. those hoses run so close to many wires under the dash that i see so there is no chance of melting anything especially a high gauge wire for an amp very protected

PS your schematic is the sedan...

Cool, I know the schematic is a sedan, but the ECU is in the same location.

I saw that square tube Nutzoids took pics of but under the steering wheel it's almost no sight of the other side of it. im not even sure if you can access it on a sedan even after u remove the battery it's actually on the right of the battery. im going to remove my battery anyways just incase i find another way i can go thru w/o having to create a new whole and waterproofing it or w/o removing too many parts

so far, using a coat hanger seems to be the way as long as i can get to this grommet with nipples.
