I'm fine with the fact that Toyota isn't interested in making the Yaris a powerful car. Neither am I. But I would be interested in a sportier suspension and S-trim level body styling for the hatchback. None of the aftermarket bodykits I've seen have looked nearly as nice as the more subtle stuff that Toyota has played with and the base MINI proved to me long ago that, with properly agile suspension, a car need not have much power to be a very entertaining drive.

I get anywhere from 22 to 32 mpg, the latter # is when I commute. Most of the time I'm having fun. Being a motorcycle guy I was really never into cars. But in 2004 there was word that the British are bringing over their 1,900 pound, Toyota powered pure sportcar (NO seat warmer or cupholders etc) which is capable of pulling +1g on the skidpad and 0-60 in 4.6sec.
I was sold when one of the magazine quoted it as "a sportbike on 4 wheels". Soon I pick up the phone, made a deposit, a year and half later it was in my garage. By the way, I never even met my salesman til the day I went to pick up the Elise, what's even more crazy is before then, I have never seen an Elise in person. Basically my test drive was in my own car.
Now here I am again with the Yaris. Lightweight compact car that does not drink petrol like water and looks damn good....
