Motor mount bolts torque specs? AT, back "dog bone"
I'm planning to swap out all my motor mounts. I'm missing torque specs for two bolt types on the bottom/back mounts. See image in red. Part numbers are 90119-14139 and 90105-10301 if that helps. Thanks!
Side question, from my understanding of the documentation, it seems to be best to replace mounts in the following order, remove pass side, remove transmission side, replace transmission side, replace pass side, remove back/bottom, replace back/bottom. Is this about right? |

I may have that page of the repair manual at home (buried in the garage). I'll see what I can find...

I don't have a full book, just excerpts from when I had a TechInfo subscription. I'm not sure if that's even a thing for the Yaris...

There was a post somewhere on here that had a link to a pdf Yaris manual. That's how I got mine. I'll see if I can find the link again.

Found it:
http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Toyota...als/index.html Also: https://cardiagn.com/2007-toyota-yar...r-manuals-pdf/ I was able to download the first link. The second link would let me view online but not download. FYI even though this is a manual for a second generation car most info is applicable to 3rd gen as well. |

However, I did find a spec sheet that shows you how to determine the torque for all bolts based on their size and pitch, so I'll be using that in the future for any other mystery bolts. Edit: I went with the following parts DEA A4254, Westar EM-5930, DEA A4237, and 12364-21020 from Toyotapartsdeal which I believe is supposed to be OEM. I just wasn't ready to drop OEM money for something that many not be a sure fix. Had this issue with my old yaris and did all mounts twice with OEM from tpd and it never was resolved. If I see a difference, I'll fork the money when these go out. I haven't heard or seen Ori. I'll check them out, thanks! Edit2: while putting my back seats frame bar back on, I realized the bolts used had a torque spec of 125Nm on the doc I mentioned, after some testing, I determined that those bolts were actually 42Nm (same as the seat belt bolts.) Just thought I'd mention it in case someone else makes the same assumption I did. Last edited by seatech30; 05-17-2019 at 04:04 PM. |

CrankyOldMan, just realized what techinfo is. I thought it was something for mechanics. I got the 2 day subscription, waiting for it to let me in. I think it wont take effect till midnight, though. [Scratch that, I got in, had to change password for some reason] Thanks!
I took off the engine RH side mount because it arrived first, but it didn't come with the bracket. I took it off the old one, it was on there good. But the repair manuals don't show the torque for this bolt (dead center under the mount cylinder.) [I can't seem to find the section that you showed in your pick. Most of what I'm seeing is like what I already have.] Edit2: Went with 50ft-lbf. Tried to go for 74ft-lbf, but felt like too much, didn't get there. I did a trial on removing the ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET and it seems the bottom of the top two bolts is going to give me a hard time. I'm guessing I can jack the transmission up? Will loosening be necessary on the other mounts or is there anything else I should watch for? Last edited by seatech30; 05-19-2019 at 09:12 PM. |

I'd have to see a picture to know for sure which one you need, but that would probably have your answer in it. =)

This is the one. I think I saw somewhere that mounts only last about 30-50k miles lol hmm.
Edit: I emailed the manufacturer, and they told me "30Nm ( 22 ft.lb )" somehow I don't think that's enough. I'll leave them at 50ft-lbf for now. Last edited by seatech30; 05-20-2019 at 06:02 PM. |

I highly doubt that the Toyota spec for mounts is 50k miles. That's pretty crappy even by US domestic manufacturer standards. |

The bolt in the center shouldn't ever be removed, as far as I know. That's the one through the damper/rubber part, right?

I already swapped the mounts. It went pretty well. Unfortunately the transmission mount from westar was not the exact same and was not able to install that one. I ordered some 3M polyurethane and gonna give filling the old mount a sho Vibration didn't change much, even changed the exhaust holder rubber things, oh well. |
