2009 YARIS sedan : oil leak from #1 head cylinder

gasket same as our 2008 that's been replaced and the 2010 3 door with 14,000+ miles that still leaks . The 2009 with 40,000+ miles is a used vehicle at a major car dealership that was a rental . This is the 11th YARIS to have the same external oil leak of the no.1 cylinder . There's been four 2010s' that includes ours and a friends ( 50,000+ mis. ) , six 2008s which includes our '08 sedan that has been repaired under warranty , and a 2007 sedan . So this applies from 2007 > 2010 .

If you pop your hood open and are looking down on the engine, which one is cylinder #1?

It's the furthest to the left . Closet to the timing chain cover .

hershey, with all due respect do u have to make a new thread every time? i have checked mine personally many times (as probably many others have) and i am confident that i checked the right place since u had very detailed pics.

i do not want to hate, i just find it odd that only the yarii u check have had the leak. when checking my engine i did notice that any spill oil will channel down to that sitting location.

I'll check mine when it warms up a bit.

Been through this before . All the pics and the worksheet from dealer for head gasket replacement we posted are the proof . I always make sure no oil was spilled on the valve cover or / and on the back of the block when checking for the oil leak . Say what you will , we no longer will post on this matter since it takes up space and has no footing to many .
