How do you measure your hubcaps?
OK, this maybe a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway.
I wanted to buy these stock hubcaps from a forum member, because I already scratched mine by parking too close to the curb I guess - it's easy to do, they're plastic!! - so he asks me if I have the 15" or the 14" ones. Uh? I go home and I measure them across from the outside: they come up to 16" across. OK, that can't be right. How do you guys measure hubcaps to find out which size you have? do you take them out first and measure from the inside or what? Thanks in advance. |

just look on your tire, like mine are 185/60/15. its the 15" wheel/gets the 15" hubcap.

hmmm... wasn't as easy as I thought to read the tires. I can't really tell what it says on there honestly.
I'll wash the car this WE and see if I can read the tires better then. But is there an easier way to figure this out? My Yaris came to me used, so I don't have any paperwork, except her Certified certificate and warranty stuff. |

It's pretty simple once you know what the numbers mean. Take, for example, tires that are 185/65/15. The 185 is the width of the tires in mm. 65 is the profile (or the tire wall) in respect to the width, in this case, the tire wall size is 65% of 185mm. 15 is the diameter of the rims in inches.
