I lived in VA Beach for 2 years and never had that problem. When you walk into your house, do you walk right into carpet? If so, you may want to get a mat so you can take off your shoes before walking around the house.

LOL, I get it now. Anyway, the mats on my car didn't stink either, although I drove a mazda 6 back then. Have you thought of maybe getting different mats? Something like plastic so it won't smell.

Get all weather mats. Like black rubber ones. They are great for collecting dirt balls and what not.

Make sure to use the fresh air intake and keep the air flow setting towards the floor while driving. This will help dry the carpet.

You really might want to dry out the carpet so you don't get mold.

You can also try getting some Damprid for your car, that stuff works wonders against humidity.

damprid? never heard of it. It's not too pressing really. I've Checked the carpet and it doesnt stay damp, so I"m not worried about mold. Now I feel like a jackass haha ....I'm the only with stinky carpets when it rains!!

You can find more information on damprid here. They sell it at supermarkets, Lowe's, Bed Bath and Beyond and stores of that sort. I mostly use it at home, but my husband had bought one for the car a long time ago, we used it in my Jetta since there was a leak from the sunroof and the carpet on the back got wet, it worked wonders. If they don't sell the one for cars anymore (I haven't seen it), you can get one of the little buckets that are used at home and leave it in the car at night.
If I was you I would worry about mold, even if you don't see it, if it smells it might appear soon. |

Maybe you should have a mat outside your door. In the rain. So when you're about to walk into your car, you can wipe your feet. On the.. wet mat...
