DC Sports 4-1 Header vs. DC Sports 4-2-1 header
Hello I am trying to decide which header I should get. So far I know DC sports is very reliable but I see these different types of headers and I do not know which is best.
The choices are: DC Sports 4-1 header (Ceramic or Stainless steel) DC Sports 4-2-1 header (ceramic) what is the difference in performance? Also does it matter if its ceramic or stainless steel? I hope someone can help me out on this one... Thanks |

According to DC Sports' Web site, they only offer a 4-1 header for the Yaris.

OBX makes a 4-2-1 for the Echo/xA/xB, but don't know if they made one for the Yaris.

stainless is always good, and i think it's better than ceramic cuz it wont chip crack or peel.
other than that they're all the same one thing, the 4-2-1 may add a little more torque but you'll lose high end HP, and vise-versa for the 4-1 |

Has anyone installed a DC header? Is it something I can do in the driveway on jack stands, or does it have to be done by a professional? Do you have to modify the stock exhaust system?

You can do it in your driveway. Jack stands or ramps are recommended. It took me about an hour do install mine. It's a direct bolt-on so no modifications are required. I suggest some new gaskets while your at it.

+1 direct bolt-on.
Some of the bolts are a little tough to reach, but otherwise, it's not that difficult. In stock, too.

I've heard that 4-2-1 is better for mid-range as well. Hows that Megan racing header?

I used the Megan on my car before boosting it, was totally happy with it.

from what i know is that the 4-1 will give more power on the low rpm (easier acceleration) where the 4-2-1 will give more on high rpm (easier top speed)

OLD thread!
DC Sports: 4-1 only Megan: 4-1 Weapon R: 4-2-1 On the Yaris motor it honestly makes very little difference. A header in general wakes the car up a little, and sounds great. But we are talking about a very short tube header with this. If it were a long tube design, it would both make more power and benefit more from a 4-2-1 design.

Installation of the header in your driveway is more complicated if you live somewheres where they salt the roads in winter. The 14mm bolt that holds the header to the midpipe was rusted down to just bigger than a 13mm.....had to use vice grips to get it off....but I still did it in the driveway
