First and probably LAST wax job

Man, I forgot how much work it was to do a wax job!
It's been about 15 years ago that I did one.
5 hours total -- I don't think I'll do another one for another 15 years!

First tape off the areas you don't want waxed, then the wax, then
the final admiration of your work. Don't know if it was worth it...

holy cow! you taped off parts of your car! lol. smart, but funny.

just use turtle wax ice, and you won't have to worry about hitting those parts.

when i had my first new car (when i was 16) it was a ford escort sedan. i used the 3 step mothers on it every other weekend ..usually took me 3-4 hours to get it done.. probably a good thing i only had it for a year or so lol probably would have hand polished the paint right off it

I think it looks really nice and yes, it's worth it.
I have yet to do mine, not really looking forward to it, but I know I'll be happy when it's done.

Looks really good. I had vinyl cutouts with 2 way tape that I used to cover the non-wax areas, now I apply non-staining wax on those areas then wipe those areas off when I'm done waxing. It's always worth it to do a great job. Nice work.

Used Meguires cleaner wax. Some of the toughest I've ever used. Used to use Raindance - may have to go back to it again.

I thought everyone taped off their car.
I learned it the hard way with my new Maverick Grabber that had a blacked out hood and rear panel. Had to use rubbing compound to get the flat black back.

Anaconda,
Was the drivers door ever repainted?
I bet you could still get that paint to shine with some serious elbow grease!

Yep, almost every square inch was repainted at one time or another. There isn't one square inch of the car that isn't scratched or dented. Needless to say, I didn't care where in the Walmart parking lot that I parked. Always left with window down and key in it. Nobody would ever steal it or give it a second look.

I always tape off the plastic stuff you dont want the wax on. But i also use a DA so i can polish, wax, and take the wax off in about 2-3 hours total. :-)

its nice.

How does it take you guys that long to wax your car. I use liquid wax and takes me about a hour at the most. I just do the front of the car side side top and back
in 4 sections. Wax then buff off.

Very nice job but you can get the same results with half the work.not sure what your system is but you can lose the tape .I use Maguires NXT and Mothers Carnuba,i wash and wax once a month alternating with the NXT and Carnuba
