Energy Drink - Info Request
hey guys, i have to do a report for my o-chem/biochem class. it's basically a report where you gather information and put it in your paper (with proper acknowledgments, of course). here's what i will be talking about:
For my research report, I will be talking about energy drinks. More specifically, I will talk about why and how they work; what the ingredients do, what your body does with the ingredients and how it reacts to them. In addition, I will talk about if energy drinks are bad for you, and if they are, at what quantity levels and why. i have found several sites already, but i would like more. i have only found one good site/source for why energy drinks are bad for you (don't get me wrong, i drink energy drinks), and i would like more information on this. if you guys have any sites/sources about energy drinks, i will appreciate it if you let me know about them. thanks. p.s. my personal favorite is Rockstar |

Monster is my favorite either the regular green or the Lo-Carb. I am kind of watching my figure . My ex girlfriend is a sports medicine specialist and she said that some of those have to much of some ingredients and the body doesnt absorb them fully and they are just burned off.

You probably have these already?
Journal of Analytical Toxicology: McCusker RR et al. Caffeine content of energy drinks, carbonated sodas, and other beverages. Journal of Analytical Toxicology. 2006; 30. "Adverse Cardiovascular and Central Nervous System Events Associated with Dietary Supplements Containing Ephedra Alkaloids.” The New England Journal of Medicine 343(25): 1833–38, 2000. Also, I remember France banned Red Bull a few years ago, stuff like that might provide some interesting background. My sister is a veterinarian and hated organic chem, I was doing a lot a research of my own and had JSTOR access so I helped her out sometimes, and in the process learned more about medical journals than I ever wanted to know... |

Love Red Bull in the new large cans.
2nd favorite is Rooster Booster - QuikTrip gas station drink fountains. If you prefer cans - 1/2 price of Red Bull! Also Rush Energy - Racetrac gas station drink fountains. and 24-7 (cans) - Walgreens Drink hearty. Im an energy drink junkie.

Red Bull doesn't work for me. the ones that work best for me are Rockstar, then Amp and Monster is tied for second.
