Steam Cleaning

Just recently I bought a steamer to kill some bugs, but in the cover of the box it shows a picture of some guy steaming his tires, as well as the brakes. Is that a good idea?

It can't hurt, but I prefer to smoke my tires :)

it's hot water, can't hurt the brakes since braking reaches well over water boil temperature, and is prone to water contact anyways.

ohhhh I'd so be doing the engine compartment and underside of the car... then throwing that ruberized truck spray shit all over the bottom... try to minimize road noise.

I'd just keep the steam away from the engine compartment.

Yes, be carefull. When it comes to popular cleaning methods you can't pick a worse one around engine bay electronics than the steam cleaning method.
