new boot and need opinion on eyelids
So, thanks to Garm, I found the perfect shift boot to go with the knob I bought from ryank. (thanks as well). while looking at the site, and drooling, i decided to get eyelids as well. my original plan was to paint match the eyelids with the rest of the car, like expected. however, i came up with a few ideas and need some opinions, and possibly a photoshop expert. Should I:
-leave the eyelids the color they come, since it's close to the color of my car, but still stands out a bit -paintmatch the eyelids meteorite -paint them black to match grill, stripe, wheels, etc. (down side to this is that i plan on later getting the retro headlights with black housing which would make the eyelids practically invisible) OR -paint them red to match tow hook, calipers/brake drums, strut bar brackets ???????????????????????????????? here are some pictures if it helps you to imagine it. once again, if anyone has a few spare minutes of boredom and would like to photoshop it to help me get a better feel, be my guest. And the boot with knob

I would get it painted the same color as your car. I'll say no to the red eyelids lol.

Same colour as your car.
BTW, do the eyelids have any function, or are they just to change the appearance a bit? |

I'll say colormatch, or black. If you check out Qmobile's ride (Blazin Blue in this pic), he has black eyelids and they look sharp.

Maybe that's why the boot ripped.

As to the OP's question, I say paint it to match your car, unless you choose to paint the hood at some point. Check out Treyz' ride in the official eyelids thread (link in my sig) to see what I'm talking about. P.S. Do not install the eyelids without some kind of clearcoat! The material they are covered in now is just primer, and will not stand up to wear and tear.
