I have a 01 Yaris in great condition. Recently, the lights on the radio have been playing up. When I turn off the ignition and take out the key the lights on the radio that say 1-6 (to choose saved radio stations) stay on. It has ran my battery down many times and Ive had to buy a new one lately. I need to jump the car very often. Its very inconvenient. I brought it to a mechanic yesterday and all he did was take the fuse for the radio out. So now I have no radio at all, no dome light and no beeeeeeep when I turn off the car but leave my lights on. Does anyone know a quick fix for this?? Th mechanic told me it would be a massive job ot take out the whole dash to check ot out fully. Im hoping not!

It sounds like it is an internal problem with the radio. The radio gets powered by a constant feed that keeps its memory and an ignition switched feed for actually running it.

Replacing it would probably be the best option. A fix beyond that means disassembling the radio to try to find the problem with it.
