What is the Most Quiet aftermarket performance muffler
I have the Sedan and i'm looking for a nice muffler, because the stock muffler looks like crap, but I don't want it to sound like a rice fartcan, are there any high flow mufflers that are fairly quiet?
Thanks in advance.... |

Any muffler that has a big outlet with no silencer, coming off a 1.25" exhaust pipe(I think thats what OEM was)is going to sound like a fart can.But you should hear mine,no farting, just a deep note.

I would think the TRD muffler would be quietest, I also hear the Fujitsubo one is not too noisy too.

Then which one is the best value price wise?
I don't want to pay 400 bucks for a muffler, I remember paying 99 bucks each for my flowmasters, when I had my LX 5.0. |

Well sure, a custom exhaust can cost you quite a bit less, but the results are unknown until you try it

Well I had my flows hooked up to my Bassani X pipe on my stang, but that was just a different class of car, I'm not looking to race my yaris, there is no point in it. It is an economy car, I guess I'll just find a nice exhaust tip, but I want it to come straight out, not pointing down. Do you guys have links to mufflers for the Yaris?
Thanks |

Plenty of mufflers available from the various site sponsors, if you're after just the tips I've got some official Toyota ones in my GB thread.

Yea I really don't think their are too many quiet type mufflers. You can find one and add a silencer to it. That is the only thing I can think of that will make it quiet.

I can tell you the ZPI axle back is NOT quiet. Go TRD or Tanabe Medalian touring.

I know everyone likes "exhaust in a box", but custom exhaust is the way to go. custom cat back piping with a high flow chambered muffler. no bigger than 2" inlet and outlet, custom bent exhaust from the cat back. I went with dynomax. slightly louder than stock, but since it is a chambered muffler it is still quiet. not all chambered mufflers are quiet, some, like flowmaster, are a bit loud.
I spent 50 bucks on a DynoMax Superturbo muffler at the local exhaust shop and under 150 bucks for cat back 2" piping. quiet, flows good, has a nice tone. problem solved.

I have the same as Spades (thanks for the consult), although I intended to have the 14" Flowmaster installed. Both that and the Magnaflow were too loud. The Turbo & 2" stainless steel tip set me back $90 and sounds great.
