Help With Window Visors

Im just curious would the 3M tape on the window visors damage the paint on the door if decided to remove the visors afterwards. Would it leave marks on the door or chip away paint on the door?

I guess this is a general question about window visors, so if you have any experience with them, please help me out. Im considering to buy a set for my 5-door hatchback. Thank you

as long as you peel them off easily and dont just yank them off should be no damage at all.

I live in Canada too, and have a 5-door hatchback. I highly recommend the Genuine Toyota in-channel window visors. These require no 3M tape, and fit directly into your window channel for the perfect fit. These cannot be stolen as they sit inside the window channel. The tension of the plastic and perfect fit keep them in place when your window is down.

Toyota Canada has in-channel vent visors? All I've seen are the ones that stick to the exterior of the car. I know Weathertech now has in-channel vent visors for the 5-door LB. Still waiting on Lund / AutoVentShade to release in-channel vent visors for the 5-door. They're much cheaper than the Weathertechs and they don't have that annoying part that goes down and blocks the side mirrors.

Weathertech and Lund / AutoVentshade have had them for the 3-door LB since early 2007.

The in channel ones from toyota canada is very expensive. I think is around 200 bucks for the 5-door hatch. the stick on ones are around 40-50 bucks and its my first time buying visors so i dont know which ones are better.

in channel are cleaner looking and are more secure, but the stick on work great as long as you clean the surface well before installing.

I have the in-channel type for the 3-door Lb from buyautotruckaccessories.com for $39.95 and the part number is 192916. They are a tinted color and match my tinted windows. Had them a few months now and love em. I think the Brand name is AVS.

Weathertech now has in-channel visors for the 5-door LB. They're around $100 though and not sure I want to try them since I didn't have very good experience with their visors for the 3-door LB.

the stick on ones said you would need alcohol to clean the paint before you stick them on. is that really necessary? they are about 50 bucks shipped to canada from ebay.

I've had the type that adhere to the outside of the door on other vehicles and if I removed them later for whatever reason(broken or unglued) it didn't hurt the paint. It seems to me the paint on my Yaris Lb chips really really easily and I would be scared of the visors that stick to the paint. My '98 Camry and '04 Tundra had much more durable paint jobs, that's why I chose inchannel visors for my Lb, just something to think about, IMO.

In Canada, I paid $140 for my set of 4, for my hatchback. These are in-channel, genuine Toyota (with "Toyota" marking on each one). Easy to install and no problems with fit. Keep in mind with in-channel, no one can steal them either.

Several people (me included) have reported that their in-channel visors have fallen out or came out very easily, even with the windows cracked open just a bit. If the windows are closed then yeah, you're not getting them out.

I like the ones made by Lund / AutoVentShade. Theirs is in-channel AND has 3M double-sided, weatherproof tape to stick it in your window channel. Too bad they don't have them yet for the 5-door LB.
