(Cheap from ebay) Magnetic Fuel Saver

Has anyone used one of these? If so do they really make any difference at all, or are they just a waste? I was just browsing on ebay and noticed these.

this is part of their description;

1) Powermag: Magnetic Fuel Saver can help engine to burn fuel more efficiently
2) Powermag: Magnetic Fuel Saver let your car run more miles per gallon
3) Powermag: Magnetic Fuel Saver will improve engine performance
4) Powermag: Magnetic Fuel Saver will reduce emissions
5) Powermag: Magnetic Fuel Saver will clean air

Magnetic Fuel Saver gadgets increase combustion efficiency for a cleaner burning engine. This reduces harmful emissions while increasing engine performance.

Benefits of Magnetic Fuel Saver
1) Save fuel, save $$, more MPG (miles per gallon )
2) 50% reduction of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons
3) Helps pass emission testing/smog check
4) High octane performance with lower octane fuel
5) Improved performance - quicker starts
6) Stops scale build-up and corrosion in engine
7) Reduced wear on O2 sensor and catalytic converter

Any info is welcomed! Thanks in advance.

They forgot to add things like

adds 5-10 HP, and other misc stuff like turning your car into a hybrid and giving it the ability to make you grilled ham and cheese sandwiches while you drive, while simultaneously doing your dishes and your neighbor kids homework!

didnt this start out as some sort of farmer's trick for something a long time ago?

I had a friend who bought one of those two years ago*. He hasn't had to refuel his car since, it's pays his registration and turned his car into a hover car.

*May or may not be true.

This is an open poll. If you click on the number 1 next to yes it will tell you who voted yes.

MADDOG
, get your facts straight!

The hover car upgrade only works on a DMC-12...

So, unless your car looks like this:

Name: DeLorean_DMC-12_%289979%29[1].jpg
Views: 600
Size: 56.7 KB

you will not be able to use the Powermag Magnetic Fuel Saver to get your car into hover mode...

(It has something to do with the interaction with the stainless steel body work of the DMC-12 and the magnetic fields generated when the Powermag is optimizing fuel flow.)

I do believe this is yet another scam to lighten the wallets of the unsuspecting. For me, I shall pass on this particular fuel economy enhancement.

Air Swirler...

The gas line magnet...reminds of a device that a friend of mine put in his carburetor. It looked like an aluminum turbine blade. It was supposed to 'swirl' the air as it went through the carburetor throat to better mix the gas with air.
He found no change in mileage until one of the blades broke off and went into the engine. He didn't use any more gasoline until they took the engine apart to repair it.

They used to call DeLoreans "snowmobiles" because it took coke to get them running.

Hahaa.. This junk has been around as long as the automobile. Even the manufacturers aren't above such rubbish, look at some of the ads from the 40s and 50s to see what I mean. Mr. Nelson is right...

Absolute waste of money, will do absolutely nothing to improve any aspect of your cars performance.
Most car companies have billion dollar research and development departments dedicated to getting the best performance out of a car,odd gimmicks like the one here have usually been tried and tested and found to be useless,if they did anything at all you can bet they'd be standard equipment on most cars.
