did somebody notice in their Yaris 2010 that after releasing the breaks it makes like a "moan" sound for a few seconds?? My car is brand new so I was wondering if that was normal...

i notice it too. i have a 2010 yaris sedan with 3,200 miles currently. i'm assuming it's the electronic power steering.

Don't hear it from mine - I got a Sedan.

Are you talking about the regular brakes or the parking (emergency) brake? I don't hear any noise with my brakes, but when parked on a hill and I release the parking brake, there is a slight moaning noise, but I've heard this on every car I've ever owned.

Test this: Engage and release the brakes.... remember the sound.

Engage and disengage the e-brake quickly, is it the same sound?

Does your car feel like its sinking in the front when you put on the brakes?

If so, you probably have the same issue I did, and the noise is coming from the drums. The Star wheel assembly that is suppose to auto adjust was installed backwards(Right on left,,,, left on right) from the factory!
