Would that be considered a performance mod?

Hey W.A.S.P. do you have any covers for the rear?
Same here. Too expensive for me.

No, no covers for the rear

Hey W.A.S.P. I like it! I wanna get one too! Was it difficult to install? Does it affect your braking in any way?

Sure. Go for it!
Don't pay attention to the ones making fun of it, as the real laughing thing is people spending two or three thousand dollars on a big brake kit for a $13000 econobox, like that's so cool! it's a cheap car, 1.5 liters for Pete's sake. This is not a Skyline. With those $3000 I'd go buy something cool like a motorcycle. I did it for the looks, chicks dig it! and could care less about performance or pleasing the " Fast & the Furious" type of guys.
The installation is easy. Just apply the high temperature silicone to both the caliper and cover, and give it a few minutes for it to solidify a little bit. Then it will be easy to align to your like.
I recommend painting the calipers with the appropriate paint before installing these, for a more uniform look.
Good luck on the new project, and don't worry about heat issues, so far mine have been working great, no fading!

Just wondering was it a heat issue why you didn't put the covers on the back brakes?

They look sweet!

I could never find a site for them! I got mine through a local workshop who carry them, though I have no experience with "real" performance brakes, you do get what you pay for with these. Maybe the pads are crap, but after driving normally for a while, it feels like the brakes have faded quite a bit. Still, they are quite strong, and more than capable to handle wide, grippy tires.

Bleah! Money is meant to be spent. I wouldn't be worried about someone else's opinion when it comes to how money should be spent on a car.

The dead giveaway is that the caliper piston bore centerlines on the "Brembos" would be moved towards the center of the rotor a bit on the real deal.

I've faked calipers before, the end result of a process called "rapid prototyping".
