I think the Yaris is just starting to gain momentum in Canada. When I was at the dealership doing test drives the Yaris was getting some attention, but not nearly as much as the Corolla. And I saw more people (families) looking at the sedan not the LB. I know this was posted before, but in case you missed it: Quote:

There are about 5 yaris liftbacks sitting on the lot in Regina here...have been for at least a couple weeks...2 blacks, a blazing blue, grey-blue, and a white. Mix of auto and manual. I have only seen 3 other Yaris hatches around, none of them 3-door, and 2 Yaris sedans, but one was a rental.
I dunno why they're so sparse here, so far...most people on the prairies buy trucks, I guess. THERE ARE A TON OF SUZUKI SWIFTS ALL OVER THE SHOW THOUGH. They're ugly as heck. |

I think it will be a year or two until there's significant momentum behind the Yaris brand/model. Right now there's just no mindshare. Everyone knows Civic & Corolla. Fit & Yaris are obscure in comparison. Advertising is helping to push these new brands out there to some extent at least. I think the Yaris is distinctive looking enough to help increase its mindshare once enough of them start appearing on the streets.

I hardly see any 'SITTING' at the dealership around northern part of GTA. It's gettin' all over the streets. haha.

They are sold before they even reach the show room floor in Albuquerque. There was one left (that i test drove) in NM. I talked to the dealer the other day and there was only 1 yaris in stock in the surrounding 7 states.
