Code(s) say burning oil
I am aware that burning oil is kind of normal for an 08 Yaris. Mine has been doing it forever (280,000 miles so far).
I did not drive it for about 2 weeks, then started it and it idled rather rough. The engine light came on as I was driving it to the mechanic for a brake job. I told him about the light. When I picked it up, he said that the codes were saying it was using oil (duh) and I should just keep driving it because it still runs well. He cleared the codes. I brought it home and the ride smoothed right out about halfway home. I am concerned about the car passing smog in February when the tags are due. Has anybody else had a reading regarding oil burning? It's using the quart per 1,000 miles that seems to be standard. Thanks. |

you have a dingleberry of a mechanic, there are no such things as dtcs for oil burning. start with a different mechanic, you should not trust him with him telling you bs stuff like that.
