Summertime

Spent the past couple days going crazy... tire rotation, got her on jack stands and sprayed her belly off, hit the wheel wells, removed much of the interior paneling and vaccuumed like crazy, treated the plastics, wash, wax, spray detail. Results...

But yeah, she looks goooood!
If I showed you a picture of my car right now, you'd cry... I got splashed by a car going through a big muddy puddle, so the car is BROWN

First I smoked everything but the white part, but then I decided I would rather have the whole thing dark and lose the reverse light functionality. Its easy enough to poke your head out the window to see behind you at night anyway. Those tail lights are going in the boneyard soon, as I plan to replace them with a smoked set of JDM replicas via our good friend Thomas.

I also have an idea for the badges on the car and ordered the piece I needed today. Stay tuned for that.

Good job. Are the wheels fading some, or did you paint them flat black? The reason I ask is I am considering flat black finish before I do the pinstripe around the edge.

The wheels are fading and spotty oddly enough. The only thing I could think of that would cause that would be tire shine, which contains petroleum distillates and over time has turned my first set of wheels brown. Needless to say this is the last time I use tire shine on a set of tires. Anyway, if I were you I would paint them flat black first. Just allow them proper time to dry. Also, a trick to getting the paint to set well is to hit the underside of the surface with a torch gently to heat it up a bit while the paint is drying. It will help the paint cure to a hard, tough finish fit for use on a wheel. Also, be sure to clear coat it many, many times over. It will buy you time before they chip, which they will eventually.

Got a huge order of Zaino products on the way (thanks Charles!). So the first weekend that I have absolutely nothing to do for an entire day, I'll be making the jellybean all pretty!

If things work out I am getting a spare set and they will be powdercoated.

Sweet! I think a little tire dressing would have been the cherry on top.

Here we go, bright shiny day today, car freshly cleaned, freshly photographed... I was walking up the stairs and looked out the window and had a big smile on my face
