944GTTE Project

Pardon the quality of the images but the majority were taken on from my cellphone as i went.
I might have posted this log before the jack.
This has been my ongoing project since the summer of 07 and is nearing completion.

The car is a 1986 Porsche 944
The engine Toyota 1JZGTE

I will add descriptions to the picture over the next few days as this is a lot to post all at once.

12.5 lbs lightweight 1jzgte Flywheel
Direct from Japan, $230

Stage II pressure plate came with 7mgte disk
(if you need the 7mgte clutch disk I still have it)

Machined the center clutchhub and spliced it with the 944 bearing.

I had to pull the manifold off to put the new wiring harness on decided to clean it up and paint it with caliper paint while i had it off. Just some color for now.

I had to laugh at the picture of you upside down in the drivers seat. I can't count the number of times I've been in the same position.

Props for the work. I'm sure you must be excited to take it out for a rip.

I personally wouldn't have painted the piping blue, but if it floats your boat then good on ya.

Im cheep, i would have polished and chromed it, but i don't intend for this to be so much of a show car, and i happened to have caliper paint laying around.

LS1 = aprx $2500 + shipping

1JZ only cost me $1000 shipped.

LS1 and LT1s already have kits for them.

After every thing is tested I plan to have the parts machined, documented, patented and maybe even sell kits. who knows.

I also love the Toyota engines.

My advice, don't buy ABSpowerbrakes unless you love shitty customer support, I ask for a wiring diagram for the unit and i get a shitty picture.
So that is my biggest issue right now.

Weather sucks

Cali Weather has sucked ass lately, I have had enough clear time in between all the rain to install the "heater" radiator with a higher water reserve point. Will have pic up soon, have also removed some more carpeting and dead weight.

Now that the plumbing is done for the extra radiator I have two more things to do before I test drive it.

*brake booster wiring (from scratch now...)

*solid motor mounts (no room for engine flex/wobble)
