Lease Is Up On My 09 Yaris. Thoughts?
21,000 miles. I can stay or go. I've heard that the 10 is safer? Love the smaller size of the IQ but the cost, mileage and reported slowness make me extremely uneasy. Drove a Fiesta hatch, nice, but to big for my taste. Never liked the Fit. Interested in the Sonic hatch.

If you liked your 09 and the buyout of the lease makes good financial sense why not just stick with it? You know the car now that if for sure. As for safety that is a topic of debate because pretty much everyone here that has been in an accident to include major ones have lived to tell about it and many times just walked away no matter the year.

My 08 has just over 20K on it, and while it wasn't a least there's nothing that would tempt me to part with it if it were! You've had this car since new, and if you're pleased with it so far than I would at least consider keeping it.
But you're really in a win-win situation, aren't you? Go and check out what's out there, and if you don't see anything that really wins you over, then keep your Yaris. Good luck with your decision! Cheers! M2

Personally, if I had a vehicle that was running good, has not had any major issues, and will last until at least 300k miles AND the terms for buying the vehicle were reasonable I would stick with the Yaris rather than buying some unknown vehicle that may have potential problems.
