Anyone have any feedback on the flowmaster exhaust?
2007 Toyota Yaris - Flowmaster Exhaust System - 50 Series American Thunder - Side Exit Aluminum Aluminized Steel
it's a dual exhaust outlet. Any experiences? |

My guess is that it would be a huge waste of money. It's very expensive ($390+), the diameter of the piping (2.5") is too large (assuming that you're running a stock engine), and the engine isn't powerful enough to justify a dual exhaust so you'd end up losing lots of low-end torque. Additionally, that would be extra weight under your car -- I don't even see how it would fit over the axle bar and connect to your exhaust anyways. Finally, I don't think that side-exit exhaust pipes would look good on a Yaris. You're better off purchasing a nice "turbo" muffler and having a custom axle-back fabricated. You'd end up coming out with a nice system for a fraction of the cost. |

ha....flowmaster. i wouldnt put that on my lawnmower
for that price you can get a magnaflow muffler; solid polished stainless, great sound, excelent fit, and installation included and you'd still have 100 for other parts.. |

I love me the flowmaster (no, that doesn't quite make sense).
Nothing wrong with the flowmaster, but for the price, I'd pass. Someone has a 60 series Flowmaster on here. I think he mentioned it in the 1/4 mile time thread. It's used, so you should get it at a decent price. But, I'm also thinking about it, so you may want to strongly consider it. Then, JUST a matter of having it installed (still cheaper than the 390 I saw on here). |

In my experience, Flowmasters sound TERRIBLE on exhausts linked to a 4-cylinder engine. You need at least a V6 to make it sound decent. Besides, I would never recommend purchasing a used, baffled muffler. Just got with a custom exhaust setup.

Good point on this one. Considering where he lives, it could be all rusted out. |

I had a flowmaster 60 series, quiet when cruising, roared when I got on it, best of both worlds.

magnaflow is the best bang for your buck. now i know it's a v8 and got nothing to do with these tiny cars...but me and a friend both had z28 camaro's. he spent 255 bux on a full on catback magnaflow exhaust. i didnt like it at first. so i got borla off ebay for cheap. i loved it but it costed me 450 used. after about a month i was jealous he spent half and had a very nice sounding exhaust. his entire system was polished stainless, where my borla was just polished tips.
any way. save your money and get magnaflow...you can still have money for something else |
