reguarding the larger turbo, a bigger turbo will move more air which can be controlled by the wastegate

^ And creates more lag. The turbo should be matched to desired horsepower. If you aren't going over 200-250, a GT25 is perfect for this motor.
I have a GT28, and it takes about 500-600 more rpm to spool up than the GT25 did.

i removed the greddy kit and replaced the manifold / down pipe, go find a used
gt25 from a nissan sr20. i found mine for under $100 (if yours doesnt suit it. and its in very decent shape. has a .68 a/r for the exhaust which is a very nice balance for the size and car. the compressor housing is also a nice .8 a/r bigger turbo for a 1.5L but defiantly not small. the greddy kit would still push 7psi at read line but the manifold / turbine housing was so small it choked the exhaust and could move enough air through it. pics of setups. ignore the dc in the middle. ps these kits are for an xb and used on an 02 echo sedan. |

Where did U find that manafold and downpipe? Those look nice. Does your turbo clear the a/c lines? On my yaris they come out of the fire wall directly behind the valve cover.

My turbo cleared all the a/c just fine. I removed the a/c when I switched to a standalone management (because it was problematic to have the EMS control the a/c).
Now that we have the AEM EMS + Boomslang harness option (running the EMS as a piggyback), I wish I could have done that.

This is the manafold Cali Yaris is using. I have the same one on my car. It does clear the a/c lines with plenty of room.
