electrified

i remember someone had posted a yaris engine for sale on ebay, it was probably this fellow:

http://www.electricyaris.com/

here is a working gen 1, this guy did a fantastic job:

if your car is used entirely for short commutes this would be great, but overall, probably not practical if you need the car for long trips.

That's awesome. I think it would make for an excellent commuter/everyday runner. Besides...if you think about it, how often do you drive more than 100 miles (or 160km) in a day?

Althought, I guess you wouldn't be able to put in a bangin' stereo.

apparently the average american commute is 30 miles, so this would work great for that.
i know for me that 95% of my driving is short trips, but i do need a car that can do 300km trips and alas, i only have the one car.

30miles!?!? I've already gone about 2x that today and its 11am here....but I do like the idea of converting to a hybrid powered setup.

well that's apparently an average and i'm not sure of the source (forget), but it does seem that that is definitely on the rise.
