Toyota Yaris Recall
http://money.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=734560
Toyota to recall more than 1.35 mln cars worldwide 28/01/2009 5:05:25 PM TOKYO, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp said on Wednesday it would recall more than 1.35 million Vitz and two other models globally to fix a defect in the seatbelt, the exhaust system or both. Subject to the recall in Japan are 525,898 Vitz, Belta and Ractis cars built from January 2005 to April 2008, Toyota said in a filing with the transport ministry. The Vitz subcompact is called Yaris in many markets. It will also recall a combined 830,000 units in Europe, North America and other markets, a spokeswoman said. (Reporting by Chang-Ran Kim) Does that mean Australian models were affected as well? Can someone please confirm? |

Getting a few mixed headlines about which years. Seems like all the 2nd gen Y's are affected. Says we're to get recall notices by next week in the mail

Also have a feeling that the exhaust recall has something to do the rust stains:

I hear that. Mine's still trying to keep the funk alive. Could it be that one of the squirrels under the hood die before leaving the factory?
