Groaning, creaking, from the rear end after taking off from stop and sometimes turnin
So I have trd springs and swaybar. I get this creaking sound every time i press the gas from a stop position sounds kinda like the springs are creaking. its very loud and annoying. I know there are no real bushings or anything else in the back that could be doing it. When i go up my driveway you hear this long creeeek. It has been getting extremly annoying. And sometimes does it over bumps.
Anyone else ever have this happen to them. It used to do this very very occasionally only going up my driveway months ago. But now its all the time an dmuch much worse. I know what everyone is going to say its probally loose bolt or something. I went underneight and checked everything that i could tell.

Well do the obvious if your creaking noise is getting louder and nothing is loose start looking for signs of rubbing on and near the bar and the springs. Also I would take some wd40 and spray one spot at a time where you think the sound my be coming from. It will get messy but nothing you can't clean. Then drive in and out of your driveway and see if the sound stops or persists. Also see if you could be outside of the car while doing so it might help you pin point where the sound is coming from. Just an idea.
Do your springs have the little black plastic wrap around the coils to keep them from rubbing against each other? |

Yeah my springs dont have that plastic wrap. I was thinking that was the problem cause the coils at the top are so tightly wound they can rub againstn each other. I sprayed the coils down with wd 40 and took it for a spin and no noise. Anyone know where i can order that plastic wrap?
Should it have come with the trd springs in the box?

I am thinking of getting some lithium grease in a aresol can and just spray it all over the area of the springs. I dont know how long the wd 40 is going to last. That way i get a more permanent fix withou thaving to take the springs out

The tanabe springs come with them, but I think Trd's don't.
Maybe you could just order the wraps from tanabe, they would probably fit. |
