For what it's worth, I've had a Rostra on my auto liftback since the beginning of August, and have had no problem with it. It's been a great addition.

Did you install it or did you have it done?

Well I have emailed and called Rostra (left a detailed message) with no response from them for two weeks. Their customer service is definitely lacking.
One time my RPMs did stick at 3000 while coasting in neutral without the CC connected. I will reconnect it and try again. At least it's very easy to connect, no splicing required just a connector.

Well, I installed my cruise tonight. Easy install and it works great. Everyone who owns one of these cruise controls should probably become familiar with how the connectors plug in above the gas pedal. Looking at the diagram, I can see how a malfunctioning cruise control unit could leave you on the side of the road, with no pedal control. Even folks who had there units dealer installed may want to check it out, just so you know how to bypass it if you suspect the cruise box has gone bad.

I give this mod a

if this pans out as just one defective unit here... or car issue... It'll be one of my next mods!

sounds like it could be a bad install, i am yet to come across a bad cc unit that we've installed... especially on a DBW vehicle..

Installed mine this morning works great so far i thought the wire taps were hard to get on there should be special pliers to hold them so you can get them into tight places couldn't squeeze hard enough to get them on by hand it was 25F out there this morning sure that didn't help any.

Just got mine installed. Ordered it from the distrubutor # on the rosta website. Got it shipped for $190, they said they gave me a discount because I'm in Minnesota.

Some suggestions on the Manual install...
1. You have to remove the steering column to screw the nut onto the cruise control stalk.
2. Make sure that you correctly reconnect those wierd black lever things on the junction box if you remove them to easily get the connections done the T-Taps.
3. I used a 12mm bolt on the steering stalk as a ground (I also used this as a ground on my heated seat install with no problems before (DIY to come soon)
4. I'd print off the instructions in color. It'll be alot easier.
5. I'm not sure what the Yellow wire was supposed to connected to on the Manual transmission one but if anybody know's, please post it in this posting.
6. You should get lots of light in there to be able to work properly.
The cruise works very well and I'm pumped to use it on long car trips. Werd.

Yellow Wire

My self install went great except for the yellow tach wire. The instructions were a little unclear, what you are tapping is the backside of the OBD (scanner) port, and the instruction illustration shows the wire you tap is in the upper right of the port. That is true, but it is as viewed from the plug-in face of the gauge (as seen lying on your back with your head on the floormat!) If you are sitting in the driver's seat, looking in the space where the small item box is, the wire you tap is at the upper LEFT of the port. My first test drive resulted in great cruise control, except when I pushed the clutch pedal in, the engine revved up to redline! (At least it was easy to fix, just pop out the small item storage box and re-tap.) With the right wire, pushing in the clutch during cruise results in a real brief rev then the engine speed drops down quick. One tip: to take the panel under the steering column out, unsnap it starting at the top, fold it down, and a hinged bottom piece has two hidden screws that need to be removed. The bottom of the junction box that the main cruise module tapes to is also the main inside fuse box, so I tried to keep the wires off to the side to allow easy fuse box access. I paid 230 for the cruise from the distributor mentioned on the first page of this thread. So far, I like it a lot. You have to turn it on every time you start the car, I guess.
