Installation of a Battery Isolator

So here is a very long and somewhat expensive and possibly horrendous story (if you nit pick me like a prick)... made short!

I bought a used yaris 3dr hatcback '07 model.
Had a shop install an amp and hook up my subwoofer.
Followed his lead and added a second amp, for a second subwoofer.
Stripped all of this out after too much dimming and battery dying.
Replaced battery.
Put one amp back in with 1/0 gauge wire.
replaced head unit with a cheap JVC.
replaced 4 interior speakers.
added a center speaker in dash.
added a subwoofer
and second amp to accommodate the additional speakers.

Anyway i have a 300+amp agm (absorbed glass mat) battery and a 200amp (300 max) battery isolator from PAC. the SPR200. The 300amp+ battery can handle my "3000 watt" PYLE amp for a pair of 15's and the rest of the electrical system.

Anyone installed a battery isolator before? (Mine came with a battery guard.)

First thing...upgrade your grounding wires.

Question for you, how much did you spend on the isolator?

Here's a nice page for you:

i'm personally not a fan of bat isolators... I'd much rather just get dual sealed batteries that won't vent gasses (of the same size/discharge rate) and run them in parallel. Throw one in the stock location, the other in the trunk.

On that thought...

why not just upgrade the alternator? The Yaris is a silly easy car to replace the alternator on.

What is the fuse ratings of all your amplifiers?
