Turbo 3rd Gen In Progress
Started piecing together a budget turbo build for my 2014 Yaris! My goal is to get a very street-able setup that will last me awhile.
So far I have a Garrett T25 (SR20DET) with a fresh rebuild (turbo was free rebuild was $200) A Zage style cast turbo manifold ($80) A tiny inter-cooler I had laying around from my old Honda Walboro 255 from a friend 2ZZ Injectors ($60 on craigslist) oil and coolant lines I have but will probably need to order new ones boost gauge i had V-band down pipe flange for a custom DP ($40) silicone pipe connectors i had The list of things I need is long and so are the questions I have lol What did you guys do as far as inter-cooler piping? What are you guys running as far as EMS? The budget I have is mostly going to be spent on tuning. |

Any progress since your OP? I am definitely looking forward to seeing the results. As well as knowing your final cost for the whole thing.

Sorry mate, still piecing it together. got the turbo and manifold test fitted on a spare motor I have. Looks like the most irritating part is going to be the plumbing of the charge pipes.

What is the most pressure you'd go? You're doing this on a stock engine, right? Other than having to get the computer reprogrammed. I'm looking into turbo'ing my 2009 sedan. But I also want it to last.

it has been said that a low boost system only doing 2.5 psi or less can be done with out any additional controls, but that is generally just a tease that make it to hard to not turn it up imo.

Ask your tuner for advice. My tuner told me that spending the extra money on the full stand alone might save my motor and they usually come with a shit ton of more features IE launch control, anti-lag, boost by gear, electronic boost control comparability, Wideband AFR support and wide map resolution

The motor will be stock yes, I'm seriously considering swapping out the head-gasket for a thicker all metal gasket to lower the compression a tad. Usable and street-able power is my goal here. Not looking to beat evo's although with 160 wheel hp, I'm sure I could make some FRS/BRZ and S2000 guys salty.
