Making the trim black again
This is the stuff, it's a black dye. The 4 oz bottle goes a loong way, I used this on our Saturn VUE and its held up well for 2 years now. The toyota plastics seem to gray really fast.
Thats excess polish on the wipers. I stopped halfway to take the picture. It has a shoe polish applicator, and wipes off paint easily 1st coat looks like crap, as in "oh god what have I done?!" 2nd coat looks slightly less bad. 3rd coat is magical black Edit: Its called Forever black, they sell a kit but you really just need the dye. Just clean the plastic before,,,,unlike me http://www.amazon.com/Forever-Black-.../dp/B0007QRLF4 Last edited by Uber_Otter; 10-15-2010 at 06:07 PM. Reason: Forgot name |

Yes, this is bar far one of the greatest products I have ever used and works wonders. I had a Jeep Wrangler with fender flares that faded within a year (its a Jeep thing and can't get past it no matter what) and this product is the bomdiggity, yes I said bomdiggity.

I have used Forever Black products on my ' 02 Celica and I highly recomend them.
I applied the plastic black dye to the badly weathered Celica's cowl and it did indeed restore it to nearly new condition. It lasted for for at least a year up to the day I recently sold it. This was in NY state weather and not garage kept. http://www.foreverblack.com/ One Point...... The yaris' plastics are not actually black but are a dark grey . So, a couple of applications may be needed (as the OP pointed out) to achieve satisfactory results and change it to black. BTW, I also recomend the FB tire dressing. It is also a long lasting black dye and not a temporary "greasy" silicone coverup like other tire products. Last edited by RedRide; 10-16-2010 at 09:34 PM. |
