quick window tinting question...??
greetings everyone:
i was wondering whether the door panels had to be removed for a window tinting process?? im assuming the rear windows and rear windshield are a direct application, but are the front door panels removed in order to perform the tinting process for the front windows? i am just worred about the introduction of rattling noises and/or poor re-installation of panels/covers on the front doors. any experiences with your window tints would be greatly appreciated, since we have never gotten the windows tinted on any of our previous vehicles. THANKS! --B

The guy who did mine removed the door panels so they wouldn't get streaked from all the water they spray on during the install. It was a perfect job.

thanx for the responses everyone! we'll be sure to check our options on the panels with the installer, and just make sure to go to a reputable one.

The tint needs to be applied under the door rubbers.
The three choices are: Pushing the rubbers down (they don't always pop back up) Taking the door panels off (if step one fails you will have to do this anyway) Use a tinting tool that holds the rubbers back so you can squeegee the tint past the rubbers. |

Not needed, but for how simple it is to remove, it will make for a better/cleaner install.
