factory stickers

Does anyone else have factory stikers on the bottom of each side of their Yaris...they're the same color of the car.

I'm trying to figure out if I can take these of...are they used for some kind of protection or to hide something?

Most cars have them. Rock and scuff guards.

And they are clear.... most turn yellow after being in the sun. UV degradation happens quick.

I have them too. I am not sure about their purpose(s) and I am not going to take them off without a strong reason.

they are to prevent chipping same as the texture on the bottom of the car(it's bumpy)... anyway, you should leave them, actually cars like porsche 911's come with them stock too :p

Alot of cars have these now, you just don't really notice because they hide pretty well.

I'll leave it on the car for now but I guess I will have to take it off next year because there is already little air bubbles under the stikers.

I had a ford with this on it and the underneith part was not painted the same as the rest (as in if you peel off the sticker it might not be painted under there). I sugest just taking a pin to the air bubbles and pop them and then just press down on the section to get the air bubbles out.

It's usually a 3M pprotectant sticker and is clear. They do not yellow, crack or bubble today. I suppose years down the road they might, but they are put on to protect areas that get chipped easily.

3M makes a "clear bra" made out of the same material. I don't know if they have one for Yaris yet. The "clear bra" covers the painted surfaces on the front of the car to protect it. I'm not a big fan of it, but it sure beats the old black vinyl bras that you used to see on cars all the time.

Most car customization shops apply them- actually, the best place to go may be the dealership- they will have contacts in the area that can do it, and the dealership will stand behind their work.

after a few years these guards will discolor and degrade. They are rather easy to remove on a hot day. Though, i would only remove them if they look worse than a few rock chips would look.

Even on Polar White, they are not "that" noticable.. I would love to get the RS skirts, and call it a day though!

Go look in front of your REAR tires on each side... it will be plain as day if you have them or not.
