Painted my dash black today pics inside
So I had it painted to color match my car before. I didnt like it after awile it didnt seem to work too much with my interior plus I didnt paint the heater control knobs. So decided to pull it out and paint it a low gloss black. Its very close to flat black its made by duplicolor which is supose to be oem black paint specifically made for exterior trim. So i can achieve a factory look still. I was worried about not painting the knobs black to match but it actually gives a good contrast
Heres before. Now after. What do you think you like it before or the way it is now.

I just wanted to go with something more oem looking. If i get tired of it later i might throw some clearcoat on it and polish it up.

Hey about the knobs, i bought some from a scion xd on ebay for about 30 bucks and they are the exact same ones that the newer yaris hatchbacks have. I love them so much and it looks alot nicer and is a lot less of a hassle then painting them yourself. Ill post pics of my center console when its done.
I have to wait for the enamal to cure so i can polish it. I also had neffy on mine before but wasn't happy with the way it was wearing. |

That's cool Jason, but you should paint the knobs. I repainted my interior pieces (center pieces and the knobs, and the door pieces that you pull on to close the door (I forget what they called). I'll take some pics later if I remember to. Also, did you have any problems with the paint flaking off the center pieces? I've always had that problem, even when I first painted it.

Oh, you should also replace the LEDs in the knobs as well. Pretty easy, and looks much better. If I'm in my car tonight, I'll try to snap some pics of those as well.

Yeah, one of the tabs broke off two of the knobs, but doesn't affect anything and they're on there tight still. Here's mine (and a pic of the flaking).
