Badly need help ............

okay , i had a Pioneer DEH-3950mp which was really good........the radio was receiving all the channels without any inconvenience. last month, i decided to buy a new Pioneer which is DEH-5450sd, bought and installed, everything was well, but i haven't checked the radio tuner at the buyer place. At home, the radio was unable to receive any channel, went to the dealer, tried another 5450, then a 8350, then a 2450............BUT all were same. When i shift back to my old DEh-3950mp....all good.
ANY suggestion please..........

Are you using the same harness ie the DEH-3950mp with the newer DEH-5450sd? it could be the problem...also could be the antenna not connected securely... just my opinions

It is probably the fact that the black wire on the OEM harness is not connected to the "power antenna output" on the new head unit's harness. The Yaris has an RF amplifier built into the antenna base, and if it is not powered the antenna is worthless.

The antenna also has a separate power wire. It is the black wire on the blue radio connector.

What year is your Yaris, and did you measure the voltage on the wire to make sure that your headunit is really powering it?

OK. If you want to try a test, since you don't have a meter, you can take the black wire from the factory blue colored connector and connect it to the grey wire, which is diagonally next to it on the connector.

So, i bought 1 like this
http://www.best-b2b.com/userimg/658/...ntenna-831.jpg
and install it. By the way i got back to my DEH -3950mp, and by surprise it plays the fm just like the others. In some village it plays well whereas in some it doesn't which was not the case before. So i do't even know what to do?

One thing I did not think of prior is the tuning spec for both radios. Is the new one rated for your area of the world, as the old one apparently was?
