Wax on Black Trim on Exterior
Hey all,
The first time I waxed my 2006 Red 3dr RS, I got dried wax on the porous plastic exterior pieces. They were flat black, and you could see the light green wax no matter how I buffed and washed them. The guys at a local car wash here recommended a product sold in Canadian Tire here called "Back to Black". I had to reapply the back to black a couple of times on the black molding around the doors, and at the top of the hood, but now all of the wax is gone. I thought that this might be of help. Any other suggestions for car wax on black porous plastic? TM |

All the products out there are CRAP!
FREEBIE SOLUTION a regular pink pencil eraser. I was shocked that it actually worked, and worked awesome! It takes away all the dried wax, and actually gets deep down inside the little pores of the plastic. You will soon just go and buy a larger pink eraser like you had back in school, as it wears donw the little pencil ones pretty fast. |

I’ve never tried using the pink pencil eraser…it probably works…but if for some reason it doesn’t…
try Peanut Butter and a new Tooth Brush… that’s right…I said peanut butter…lol put some of the peanut butter where the dried wax is…then work it in with the tooth brush (I recommend using a new one so you get the firm bristles…just get one of those 99cent ones) :) |

So it didnt work FOR YOU.
I have also used the PB route, and although it made it black again, it leaves and oily film behind, and just made me hungry. |
