My new Leather Scion tC steering wheel!
Bought it off eBay. This is the link I bought it from:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...T#ht_500wt_956 only issue is that the wheel will sit crooked. The sl9otsin the locking ring don't line up properly with the Scion wheel I got. The stock yaris wheel has a ridge in the metal part that sits on top of two ridges in the locking right, whereas the Scion wheel does not have these ridges, and therefore mus sit crooked in the other slots in the locking ring. A bit irksome.. but it's leather! |

I have a TC one on Crashy. To make it not sit crooked, you rotate the clockspring by the width of that tab.

doesn't that make your signal on one side shorter than the other?

The signal cancel difference is really not even noticeable with how little you have to shift it.

It sounds very.. patterned. They're not random. I hear two clicks when I reach a certain point, and then two clicks again when I pass back around the other way. The signals and everything work fine, but this annoying me. As far as I know I haven't rotated the clock spring a full cycle around accidentally so it's not like it could be off.. Maybe I'm crazy but, does your normal yaris click when you turn? More than just the once when the signal passes the point of return?

I just pulled mine back off to take another look. If you look at the round part that inserts into the center of the clockspring, the continual diameter of the TC one is equal to the widest width of the Yaris one. I wonder if the extra material is sitting wrong on yours to where it is pushing against some of the fins on the inner surface of the clockspring and hence deforming the clockspring case enough to cause the clicking?

It may be that you're right and it's not seated right. When I get back to my car in a bit I'm going to go e it another reseat. Which way did you orient your clocksprong? More clockwise or counter?

The Clockspring connector is to the right of center.

^ Which incidentally fixed my problem. I set it clockwise form center. Magically fixed itself.
