Not that I'm still thinking about it or anything... but does the factory heat shield go back in place on this thing or what?

6 days left.... and the heat shield does not fit back on, they've advised that you can wrap the header if you wish, but that it shouldn't be a problem if you chose to run it as is.....

They haven't mentioned anything... I think most companies are just working on the standard hop up parts first.. though you never know what might pop up at SEMA..

Wrap the header with what? A blanket?

Just kidding... where online can you get that wrap shit though? You're talking about the same wrap you'll see on CAI tubing sometimes, right?

Header wrap is supposed to keep the heat in and increase exhaust velocity and engine efficiency, as well as reducing under-hood temperature.

Soaking it in water first greatly helps the ease of install as well. Be sure you are wraping with the "folds" going in the right direction, and scrap the metal zip ties, for safety wire.

I'll never use header wrap myself. Have seen many that have used it only to end up with cracked headers.

Ceramic coating works better than header wrap and the reason they soak the stuff in water is so that you don't get fiberglass pieces all over yourself It also helps to pour some talc powder on your arms to avoid the fiberglass itches

I'm holding out to see how this works out for you people, plus once you upgrade to a supercharger or turbo, your going to need a new set again!

Maybe 2% of the members here will actually ever do that... Nothing worng with just doing a fairly cheap mod such as this header by itself.

Yeah, I want to go forced induction a few years down the line, but if I'm dropping thousands on a kit, whats a $200 set of headers? I'll sell them to some 16 year old kid that just got his first car for 50 bucks, he'll be stoked.
