I am envious that you have such an eye capable of inspecting the material integrity of bare aluminum. Good luck to you.

ok... i know i can't visually inspect the aluminum, besides for cracks or stress marks, but the pulley looked great and i believe it will last a long long time. people were upset with zpi due to their customer service but i got my pulley the following day after paying for it and the cs was great. sorry if you were one of the unhappy customers! |

I would have anodized it b4 you installed it with all the salt used on the Ohio roads in the winter, that billet Aluminum is going to oxidize pretty quick

That statement is just plain rude (not what this forum needs ). It IS possible to inspect the craftsmanship of a machined aluminum pulley for quality with your naked eye. I had one of these in my hands before selling it on ebay. They do seem well made. In addition, because they use a centering pin, they lack the groove that cracked in the TC pulley. No, they are not anodized, not that they need to be, but they do seem well made. I'm not running any pulley for warranty issues (a whole new arguement we don't need to get into here), just saying this type of post is uncalled for.

It's pretty funny how people are so hung up on Anodize. We work with a custom bicycle frame builder for our bicycle team (who all ride aluminum bikes...) and he confirmed nothing will happen except for some surface oxidaztion. (have you ever seen the INSIDE of an ALUMINUM MTB FRAME?! ) We run prototype bikes with no finish to save money and speed start to finish testing periods... you could ride these forever, and if you got tired of the oxidazation, have them bead blasted and polished, painted, powdercoated or anodized.
He said the pulley is the same way, and other than looks (and Ano is pretty cheap) there is no difference at all... Also, the billet stock will be certified (the batches are checked by x-ray)and when aluminum is bought by the bar it will have this gaurantee. I think the whole thing about the pulleys continually surfacing is so lame... it's a $100 part, like a pair of sneakers. Hey, guess what, it is a part designed and intended for OFF HIGHWAY use, like coil-overs, headers, Cold Air Intakes, etc. Sometimes parts fail, sometimes service lacks, but if you go through your life with a grudge about this than it's YOU with the problem... think about that one!

Hi, i use since 1 year a cranck pulley Unorthodox underdrive and have a bit of vibrations when the AC and WP are working, but nothing to worry. the only problem that I have is about the wear of the belt (premature wear). But this I am happy yet with my pulley it gives a performance about 10HP

i haven't noticed any vibrations at all, with or without the a/c on. and the belst are cheap and easy to replace, so if theres some premature wear i really don't care |
