2007 Yaris LB - Valve Adjustments
Maybe I'm behind the times with modern 4 cylinder engines, but I was wondering about valve adjustments on the 1.5L engine. Looking at the maintenence schedule book, I could not find anything about adjusting the valves. Are the valves self-adjusting? Hydraulic valve lifters?
Anyone know? Thanks! |

...just keep oil in the thing
The valves are not self adjusting. If you go by the track record of Echo and xA/xB drivers, then the valves do not require maintenance... its a Toyota...just keep oil in it, and it will run ...

So then there is no preventative maintenence in regard to the valves?

60k inspection

Unless I have reason to believe my valves are out of clearance (change in the valve ticking noise, lack of valve ticking, loss of power) I wont pay for the service...It hasnt been an issue on Echo's, or xA/Xb's. |
