sunroof problem on my wife's 1997 Camry - Toyota Yaris Forums

A while back my wife's sunroof on her 4th Gen 1997 Camry stopped opening, but it would tilt up...Not knowing too much about sunroofs, I thought it may have just come off the "track" or something., but it was closed and not leaking so I thought I'd get around to fixing it soon...then it started leaking. SO I pulled the entire assembly out.

It turns out that there are tiny clips that hold the tilting/moving mechanisms to the track and they are broken. the reason it can tilt up is because it pushed the mechanisms back which don't require them to be attached since they are merely pushing. but when it needs to open it requires the pull, which it cannot do.
