Looking for Tire Recommendations
As the title says, it's coming time for me to get new tires on my LB. I have put about 42k on the original tires so I'm thinking I've got my monies worth so far.
I am looking for 185/60/15's to go on my steelies. Requirements: Sub $70/tire Quiet/Low noise Good on MPG If you come up with direct links to the tires, please post them. I would also like to hear why you would recommend that specific tire. |

Tires I would recommend:
BFGoodrich Traction T/A T well looking though tire results, that is the only tire I would put on a car in that price range I like the BFG's since they have a nice ride, quiet and great traction in adverse weather conditions. They also tend to last a bit longer than some of the economic brands/models

First, I'd replace with 195/60/15's; makes for a much better fitment IMHO.
In a "sub $70" tyre, I'd go with the Falken 912; a great all 'round tyre for ride, comfort, noise, wet/dry handling, and wear. Good mileage warranty, as well. |

When you say fitment, do you refer to how much rubber takes up the wheel well?

Fitting the Yaris with 185's was probably a cost saving feature. They do look rather puny on the car and true, they leave an abundance of open wheel well. So, 195's help a bit to fill that wheel gap without oversizing, plus they provide a slighly wider footprint for improved handling.

185/60/15's are $68.
195/60/15's are just $59! So, one more reason to go with 195's. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=false&cs=195 |

I got these tires put on my '07 and they are great. They are $57 each and they have a warehouse about an hour from me so I went and picked them up. Then I took them to Wal-Mart and they put them on for about $40 which includes lifetime balance and rotation.

I'll give another recommendation to the Falken Ziex 912s. It's what I have on my Yaris. It's a high-performance all-season tire. For what it is, it's got good grip, is quiet, and thus far, have worn well. Not recommended for driving in snow, though.
Out of curiosity, are you in Southern Oregon (Rogue perhaps)?
